We offer a TITANS PACKAGE at the dam!
“The Titans” is the name given to the men who worked on the construction of the gigantic Alpine dams. The Grande Dixence dam is a structure of superlatives: the highest gravity dam in the world and the most massive in Europe.
“Les Titans” is also the name of the wine range created in 2005 by Luc Sermier, oenologist at Provins, as a tribute to these remarkable men.
Aged under extreme conditions deep within the dam, Les Titans wines stand the test of time. The constantly low temperature, high altitude, low atmospheric pressure and high humidity are the unique technical characteristics of these exceptional cellars.
PROGRAMME
Guided tour of the dam and the TITANS area, tasting of 4 TITANS wines, cable car ride and walk along the crest of the dam.
In dEtail :
Upon arrival at the Grande Dixence site, the group begins its discovery with a guided sound-and-light tour inside the dam, following a 1 km route accompanied by a dedicated guide. The tour ends with a visit to the dam gallery, where the barrels of the wine range are stored. Visitors then return to the open air and milder temperatures before heading to the dam restaurant to taste 4 TITANS wines.
A cable car then takes visitors to the crest of the dam (2,365 m / 7,759 ft). The panoramic view over the Valais mountain peaks and the vast reservoir below is truly breathtaking.
