The pyramids of Euseigne

A natural spectacle to be admired all year long

These strange forms seem to come out of a parallel world, at the limit of the supernatural. They are called fairy chimneys, capped damsels or terrestrial pyramids. They can be admired all over the world: Cappadocia, the parks of Colorado, New Mexico, the Valley of the Saints, the South Tyrol… Some of them are recognized as Unesco World Heritage Sites.

Switzerland also has its natural wonders, and it is in Valais that this unusual curiosity has taken up residence. It is the emblem of the Val d’Hérens with the majestic Dent Blanche in the background. You can’t miss them, the road crosses them and many panoramic points offer extraordinary views on this spectacle of nature. On the road leading to Grande Dixence, at the exit of the village of Hérémence, a belvedere offers you a view from above.

Download the Hérémence Tourism mobile app and follow the discovery trail “the 7 most beautiful viewpoints”.

x The access road to the Grande Dixence site is closed in winter. We look forward to seeing you in june 2024. Information and group bookings : visites@grande-dixence.ch
