These strange forms seem to come out of a parallel world, at the limit of the supernatural. They are called fairy chimneys, capped damsels or terrestrial pyramids. They can be admired all over the world: Cappadocia, the parks of Colorado, New Mexico, the Valley of the Saints, the South Tyrol… Some of them are recognized as Unesco World Heritage Sites.
Switzerland also has its natural wonders, and it is in Valais that this unusual curiosity has taken up residence. You can’t miss them, the road crosses them and many panoramic points offer extraordinary views on this spectacle of nature.
